To Be Read: LGBTQIAP+ Books

By Marta - 9:00 AM

Hello, book queens, kings and non-binary royalty!
Today I bring you the queer books I have on my TBR.

Happy Pride Month! (yes, I am fully aware it's already the end of June...)
I'm just going to be showing the books that I have on my kindle app or I own a physical copy of. Because if I were to list all the LGBTQIAP+ books I want to read... this post would be gigantic.

And without further ado, let me show you all the queer books that I can't wait to read!

  • The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed ** One of the POVs of this book is a queer Mexican girl. Everyone I know that has read this book has loved it and I can't wait to read it myself! TW: rape
  • Noteworthy by Riley Redgate ** The fact that I have an eARC of this book (which sounds amazing) but I never got around to reading it makes no sense at all. The main character is a bisexual Chinese girl. TW: outing
  • Far From You by Tess Sharpe ** The main character is a bisexual, drug addict girl that suffers from chronic pain. This book tackles some things I've never read about before (drug addiction, chronic illnesses) so I'm really looking forward to picking this book up. TW: depression, chronic illness, PTSD, drug abuse

The Shaun David Hutchinson collection. Can you believe I own 3 of his books and I've read any? I need to start because lots of people love his work and I want to love it too!
  • We Are The Ants ** A sci-fi novel with a gay main character? I'm here for it! I've been so excited to read this book for a while now. And I plan on reading it right in the beginning of next month. TW: suicide, sexual abuse, attempted rape, physical abuse, bullying, depression, self-harm
  • At The Edge Of The Universe ** So, this book was the Prideathon group book for the first round of this biannual read-a-thon. I'm a host. And guess who didn't read it? Yup, that was me. So it's about time I read it, right? TW: sexual abuse, self-harm, depression, suicide, gaslighting
  • The Five Stages Of Andrew Brawley ** From what I know, this isn't one of his best works. But I still want to read it. And since I own it, why not? TW: suicide, suicidal thoughts, physical abuse, bullying, depression, self-harm

  • Radio Silence by Alice Oseman ** I know, I know! How have I not read this? Well, I don't know either! Plus, this book has so much diversity: biracial bisexual main character, gay demisexual best friend, I-can't-remember-more-but-I-know-there's-more. And it's not romance focused but friendship focused? Y E S! TW: abusive mother, depression, outing
  • Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee ** Asexual main character. That's it. That's all I need to know.
  • soft in the middle by Shelby Eileen ** A poetry collection about love, heartbreak, body image, how absolutely breathtaking girls are, flower blooms and starlight. Do you need to know anything else to want to read this? Neither do I.

  1. Noteworthy was in my top three favorites of last year! I love that book with my whole heart. Far From You, Radio Silence, and soft in the middle were also all wonderful. I had no idea The Nowhere Girls featured a queer POV; I definitely need to look further into that one now! I hope you enjoy all of these when you get around to reading them. :)
